Middleburg is best known for its horses and vineyards, but it’s also a fun place for shoppers on the hunt for holiday gifts. Middleburg has nearly 40 independent retailers that stock everything from couture clothing and home décor. Find whimsical antiques inspired by Middleburg’s horse and hound culture, and don’t be surprised to meet friendly storeowners who love helping you select a gift for that hard to please person — or even better — for yourself!

Middleburg Tack Exchange will introduce you to the gear and hunting and riding clothing used in equestrian sports.

The Fun Shop has three floors of gifts and toys.

The Christmas Sleigh has irresistible holiday decor, books, puzzles, and pottery.

English Country Classics will make you feel like you stepped into the Netflix show The Crown. Find coveted designs and fashions for men and women here.

Chloe’s is my favorite women’s fashion boutique. I love the clothes and accessories here. It’s hard to leave this store without treating yourself.

Creme de la Creme makes the most marvelous honey bee candles and sells elegant home decor. A gift from this shop will make your family members swoon.

The Community Shop has consignment and thrift merchandise like hand-painted boots and stuffed foxes, things you could only find in this special town.

Food

King Street Oyster Bar – Along with its signature oyster bar, this restaurant has fantastic burgers.

Middleburg Common Grounds – This local coffee and sandwich shop features counter service and showcases a gallery of local artists.

Greenhill Vineyards – The Tasting Room, Club House and Farm Store offer a memorable wine tasting experience. (Greenhillvineyards.com)

Mt. Defiance Cidery & Distillery – Located in a pretty barn on a hill, enjoy a sampling of their world-class handmade beverages. (mtdefiance.com)

Activities:

National Sporting Library & Museum – this unique complex celebrates the legacy of equine and angling sports. The fine art museum displays horse racing & hunting art in a wide variety of media, with rotating exhibits. (Nationalsporting.org)

Horseback Riding – Take a trail ride around Salamander Resort. The equestrian center offers lessons in riding and grooming. Nearby Marriott Ranch in Hume offers public or private trail rides for all skill levels
